With the resounding success of other mobile shooters like Fortnite and PUBG Mobile, Activision was only a matter of time before Activision threw its hat on the ring with a free shooter. This comes in the form of Call of Duty: Mobile, a first-person multiplayer shooter for iOS and Android devices later this year. The game is said to offer a range of new and old maps/locations, game modes, weapons and characters from the Call of Duty franchise, with more details to be announced in the coming months.
Here’s all there is to know about Call of Duty: Mobile at the moment, including details of the release date and preliminary beta, platform availability and game news:
When will Call of Duty: Mobile be available?
The main question is “when will it come out?” And, although we do not yet have a specific release date, Activision has confirmed that Call of Duty Mobile will be launched as a beta. in some regions this summer. before being available in Europe, North America, South America and even more during the release.
*Update 1st Oct 2019* Call of Duty Mobile is out worldwide on Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
How can I join the pre-release beta?
Activision will release more information about availability in the coming months, but before the general release, some lucky players will be able to take part in the pre-launch betas. According to the Call of Duty: Mobile FAQ, several betas will take place over the next few months. Those wishing to access the pre-release beta (as well as the game update) should visit the Call of Duty: Mobile website and register in advance.
We will be sure to update this section as soon as information becomes available. Check back for the latest information on the release date of Call of Duty: Mobile.
Call of Duty: Availability of the mobile platform
As confirmed by Activision, Call of Duty: Mobile will be free to download exclusively on iOS and Android devices. It’s unclear whether any platform will benefit from an exclusivity period (such as when Fortnite first arrived on iOS), but it is hoped that it will be available at the same time for fans of iOS and Android games.
Call of Duty: Mobile Gameplay – what does it look like?
Like Call of Duty on PS4 & XBox consoles, Call of Duty: Mobile is a first-person shooter experience featuring a range of popular modes, environment, weapons, and characters, such as Black Ops and Modern Warfare. You can customize your character, weapons, attacks, and other equipment to enhance your shooting experience. We imagine that there will also be some kind of Battle Pass, but Activision remains discreet about it for the moment. Don’t worry though, at CoDHax we will be providing redemption of Battle Pass or whatever in-game currency for free through our secret method.
“We’re delivering the ultimate first-person action experience in a new mobile title with incredible graphics and visceral gameplay in Call of Duty,” said Chris Plummer, vice president of Mobile at Activision. “With the incredible Tencent team, we are collecting a collection of the most popular cards, competition modes, popular characters and iconic weapons from this legendary franchise to make it an epic experience for the first time on mobile.”
Activision has already confirmed several popular multiplayer modes, including Team Deathmatch, Search and Destroy and Free-For-All, as well as wildly favorite maps from fans such as Nuketown, Crash and Hijacked, while announcing that new modes and environments would be announced at the future. We have an overview of these modes at the end of the ad trailer, see above. Although we can not be sure, it seems that zombies will also be available in Call of Duty: Mobile.
More importantly, does the helicopter clip and a VTOL flying over an open battlefield remind anyone of the incredibly popular game mode of the Royal Battle called Blackout? We are very confident that it will appear in Call of Duty Mobile, but we will let you know when we have more details on the game modes available.
Are there Micro-Transactions in the game?
Yes, there are in-game currency (COD Points / Credits) to buy gears and skins from the game store. And a premium Battle Pass is available to purchase too. Get them for free here.
